FOX LA’s Office: A Glossy Makeover with Custom Wall Coverings
When FOX moved into their new two floor Los Angeles location in 2021, they relied on MetWest to transform the offices into a workspace that reflected the company. The cornerstone of their environmental branding strategy was a set of custom printed wall coverings produced and installed by MetWest on 37 walls throughout the space.
This ambitious installation featured a recurring geometric pattern as well as characters and TV personalities from FOX’s most successful productions, including The Simpsons, The Masked Singer, and many more. Both the sheer variety of the imagery and the importance of color matching to accurately represent these iconic figures meant that the sampling process was extensive.
One unique feature of this project was the clever use of gloss printing throughout. A key aspect of the design was using gloss in only strategic parts of the wall covering in order to create both emphasis and add another interesting stylistic element.
While background elements had a matte finish, MetWest printed a Spot UV glossy finish on all television figures, ensuring that they were the stars of the design concept. Additionally, a repeating design element consisting of a diagonal blue gradient stripe with a text overlay was primarily gloss while the lettering was matte to create an interesting textural effect.
The final result transformed a very lovely but anonymous workspace into a space that celebrated FOX and its many productions at every turn.
