MetWest Showroom

Discover a world of materials and techniques at MetWest’s downtown Long Beach showroom.

When MetWest began to brainstorm ideas for their downtown Long Beach showroom, one of the primary goals was to showcase the greatest variety of materials and techniques possible. The conference room was a particular achievement in melding many different types of films to create a single unified design.

The conference glass consists primarily of a custom printed abstract design on PVC-free clear glass film. Composed of colorful gradients, patterns, and geometric shapes, the print is beautifully bright and bold. Layered over this base composition, are additions of various other material elements to add complexity, including custom cut opaque white vinyl stripes, Di-Noc, and  custom printed and cut Dichroic Film installations.

MetWest was able to take it to the next level by custom printing colorful patterns on it and cutting it to match the flowing geometry of the rest of the composition. The glass design flows perfectly over the adjacent walls with custom printed wall covering: the final piece in this multi material, multi surface design.

Another unique glass addition in the showroom is Smart Film by Gauzy, which transforms the glass on the private office from transparent to opaque with a simple flip of a switch. It’s a dynamic privacy solution to optimize the functionality of any space.

Beyond the glass film, multiple wall covering installations complete the space, the most unique of which is the lobby design. Material installations on the walls, floor and ceiling all flow together to create one cohesive design in the space. ”

DYNAMIC DESIGN FOR FLOOR, WALLS, & CEILING

The lobby showcases an impressive visual display where graphics seamlessly extend from the floor to the walls, encompassing even the ceiling. By skillfully incorporating diverse surfaces and materials, a heightened sense of unity and continuity pervades the space, offering visitors an exhilarating welcome. Adding a touch of brilliance, the ceiling beams and side wall glisten with metallic gold vinyl, casting a captivating shimmer throughout.

Layered design for a stunning lobby

The entry lobby glass has its own interesting custom film installation. A map of Long Beach, California sprawls across three pieces of glass. It consists of a dual surface installation of material – custom cut opaque white vinyl on the interior, and custom printed clear film with a design in grays and various opacities of white. It all layers together to create a single composition of the company’s hometown.

Add a touch of elegance with custom glass film

Additional custom glass film installations include a custom printed gradient that transitions between blues and purples, as well as several small room dividers with custom printed designs on vinyl, clear film, and frosted film.
